How to make the most out of three days

Food ingredients Europe & Natural ingredients 2017

More than 1,500 exhibitors from all over the world across 65,000 square metres of exhibition space: Fi Europe & Ni isn’t just the world’s leading food ingredients trade show – it’s also the largest. For countless professionals around the globe, there is no question that attending this event is a must. No matter how different their backgrounds, needs and interests may be, they have one thing in common: For most people, three days just aren’t enough to explore everything.

Even for multiple-time visitors, getting a comprehensive overview of all there is to see at the event in the most efficient way is a challenge. But it is definitely possible to explore the most interesting new products, to meet exactly the right people and to find the perfect solution or partner for your needs – even if you only have one day in your schedule. How? Here are five key ways to make the most of your time in Frankfurt.

1. Take a guided tour

If your time is tight: Start with the Innovation Tour. You can choose from different focus topics that are of most interest to you: Reduction & Reformulation, Clean Label, Health & Wellness, Everything Protein oder Allergens/Free From. A guide from Nutrimarketing will take you to meet innovative suppliers in halls 8, 9 and 11 and you can listen to their brief presentations via headset. The Innovation Tours take place several times a day, starting at the New Product Zone. It takes about one hour to see the companies who have the most innovative solutions for the key market trends. No tour available at the right time? You can take a self-guided tour. Just get your route planner out or open the app, and off you go.

2. Check out the most innovative products and solutions

Need inspiration? The New Product Zone is where exhibitors present innovative finished products made with their own ingredients. This is the place to get a quick overview of food and beverage market trends. In a very concentrated way, you will see all that’s new and exciting. To discover the latest concepts, come to the Industry Insight Theatre, and visit the Expo FoodTec Content Hub to find out about novel processing and packaging solutions.

3. Listen to the experts

On no other occasion will you have the opportunity to access such a vast amount of expert knowledge – all with one ticket. During the high-level conference programme that runs alongside the show, speakers offer valuable insights into new scientific findings, consumer trends like Clean Label, life stage oriented nutrition and reduction and the best thing is: You can talk to them straight away in the Q&A sessions. Check out the conference programme at before your visit and make a note of your personal highlights. Fi Europe visitors are also invited to the Future of Nutrition Summit at MesseTurm Frankfurt. The day before the hustle and bustle of the show begins, the Summit takes a detailed look at what is likely to change the face of the food and beverage industry from a long-term perspective – from the impact of rapid urbanisation on future nutrition through using artificial intelligence to create new ingredients to the medical and life-saving potential of food.

4. Plan ahead and use networking events

Good preparation is the key to successful networking. From October onwards, registered visitors and exhibitors can use the Business Matchmaking Tool. This web-based tool cuts the time you have to spend on networking preparation to a minimum. Once you’ve registered, you can search in advance for interesting and relevant exhibitors, find out about their offers and arrange meetings in the Business Matchmaking Lounge. At Fi Europe 2015 in Paris, over 700 meetings were arranged using this tool – with an attendance rate of over 90 percent. If you are a female industry professional, don’t miss the Women’s Networking Breakfast on 29 November.

5. Use the Fi Europe App to organise your visit

During the show, the Fi Europe App will keep your mobile device updated with details of free educational opportunities and events, and is the ideal way to search for products and suppliers. You can create your own show agenda and find your way around much more easily. The Fi Europe App is available at Google Play and the App Store, just search for Fi Global, or find more information on the Fi Europe website.
