Health and Nutrition Claims

The long anticipated breakthrough regarding the implementation of the Health Claims-Regulation of 2006 took place in December 2011: The list on permitted Health Claims on food presented by the European Commission was accepted by the Member States.

 

Therewith, the legal implementation as well as the official publication is expected to proceed within 2012. Which practical consequences are to be expected and which steps should be initiated next will be the main discussion points at the 4th International Fresenius Conference on Health and Nutrition Claims from 8 to 9 May 2012 in Mainz (Germany).

 

Besides the list of permitted Health Claims, the conference will also deal with the New Food Information Regulation as well as current developments concerning claims on botanical and probiotic products.
