BFBi Chief Executive Awarded MBE in New Year Honours List

Ruth Evans, Chief Executive of BFBi (Brewing, Food & Beverage Industry Suppliers' Association) has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours List for her service to export.

Ruth joined BFBi in January 2000, becoming Chief Executive in 2003, and has taken a particular interest in developing export opportunities for UK companies within the food & drink supply chain as well as lobbying on behalf of the value chain supplying the brewing and beverage industry - in particular on issues such as sustainable customer/supplier payment terms.



Says Alistair McInnes, National Chairman of BFBi:

"the Award reflects the Association's hard work, under Ruth's leadership in promoting exports for the British brewing industry, not only for our Members, but also UK brewers, as well as the food and beverage producers in promoting their products overseas."


Says Ruth Evans:

"I was very surprised to be nominated but proud of the work the Association and its Members have done for the industry over the past 100 years.  I hope to use the extra profile of the MBE to continue our support of the beverage and food industry and, in particular, the UK brewing industry."
